Art Central Hong Kong 2026

Qualia Contemporary Art makes its Art Central Hong Kong debut with a duo presentation of new paintings by Lyu Peng and Xu Hongming at Booth A1. The pairing places two distinct approaches to contemporary painting in direct conversation: Lyu stages meaning through theatrical figuration and narrative density; Xu strips the image back into luminous, systems-based abstraction. Both artists work with inherited materials: ink and mineral pigment, silk and xuan paper, the form of the handscroll.

Together, Lyu and Xu open a conversation on the mutability of Chinese tradition in contemporary painting.
