I Hate Love, 2023
Wang You (b. 1988 in Harbin, China) draws inspiration from daily life, observing people and objects and then improvising and reshaping real-life images in a way akin to a movie montage. Raised in Shenzhen, she graduated from the Directing Department of Shanghai Theatre Academy in 2009. She currently lives and works in Beijing.
Wang has held several solo exhibitions, including The Rite of Spring (2023) at MASSIMODECARLO Beijing and Everyone Comes for the Donut (2022) at WishinART, Beijing. Her works have also been showcased in various group exhibitions at leading venues such as Tang Contemporary Art, Hong Kong; Nanjo Art Museum, Okinawa, Japan; TAG Art Museum, Shandong, China; Yuan Art Museum, Beijing; TANKO CB Lab, Beijing; and Tang Contemporary Art & Soul Art, Beijing, among others.
